When looking at furniture, people are often confused by how to tell if something is solid wood, or a veneer. An easy way to tell is to look at the end grain or edge of the piece. Does the grain on the top continue all the way down and through the edge? If so, it’s probably solid wood. If you see a seam, or the grain doesn’t match up, it’s probably a veneer.
